I think the last one I read was Tessa Dare's first Spindle Cove book, A Night to Surrender. Loved the book, loved the couple, and it was both humorous and angsty.JenMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08381388317577838604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7348815.post-64570288103737531002012-04-07T09:12:24.385-06:002012-04-07T09:12:24.385-06:00BluePanelGirl: Exactly. For me, I've always been able to slog on because the actual action of reading is pleasurable to me - but of late, as my TBR pile gets bigger and my wishlist gets bigger, I've found there really is no point in wasting time on books with no redeeming quality whatsoever.

JenM: For Wounded Heroes, I'd suggest the Prince of Midnight by Laura Kinsale - he used to be a dashing, graceful highwayman until an explosion wrecked something in his inner ear and now he has no balance - but he has to still stumble through and become a hero again. Loved that book!AnimeJunehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18229748454410488167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7348815.post-32700171643860255892012-04-06T23:37:51.218-06:002012-04-06T23:37:51.218-06:00This is why I love being able to sample on my kind...This is why I love being able to sample on my kindle before buying. I'm a sucker for physically wounded heroes so I picked up a sample of this book awhile back. After just 15 or so pages, I put it right back down, thinking "meh, not for me". Invariably, if the sample doesn't interest me, the full book will end up as either a DNF, or a slogfest.JenMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08381388317577838604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7348815.post-79114008042240185882012-04-06T21:53:53.916-06:002012-04-06T21:53:53.916-06:00I love this. Instead of telling people they don't have to finish bad books I will amend it to boring.

Anytime someone tells me they've been reading a book for 6 months or longer and haven't been able to finish it, I tell them to give up. It just means that book isn't what interest you. There are so many great books of every genre, don't waste your time on a boring one.BluePanelGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03779027166169550951noreply@blogger.com
