She always
manages to capture the beauty of a moment and the setting of the story,
infusing it with her understanding of humanity.

Liza
Best Reviews for Alaska Fishing Lodge Sitka AKAnaliza Brownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7348815.post-42212642231566328382013-02-27T18:07:17.426-07:002013-02-27T18:07:17.426-07:00I really enjoyed that as well - it gives her novel...I really enjoyed that as well - it gives her novels a kind of universalism. I especially liked the interlocking stories and how different characters and references popped up in other stories, albeit shown from a different perspective. I have two books in my TBR, both recommended by you, but I decided to read this book first since I'm a big fan of short stories, and particularly linked short stories that when put together give the reader a broader perspective on the subjected matter once the book is finished.

I loved this book. Besides her prose which is obviously worthy, I love how Hoffman ties her usage of magical realism to nature throughout most of her stories,(both blatantly and subtly) instead of tying it to a specific culture. That was very well done. Hilciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17765831808358693421noreply@blogger.com
