Plus, I never felt she became hardened or annoying. While I enjoyed the "secret daddy" storyline when I read it, it wasn't necessary - Neville certainly didn't care who her father was and that's probably what I liked best about him. It's been a while since I read it - thx for reminding me!Kaetrinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16936055488367251592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7348815.post-44995899542415085362010-10-06T09:05:05.265-06:002010-10-06T09:05:05.265-06:00I love that you love this book that I love - and f...I love that you love this book that I love - and for all the same reasons (despite the faults you identified that I also agree with). My impression is that a lot of Balogh fans don't really rate it - in particular, lots of people who love A Summer To Remember (which I thought was *meh*). Boo sucks to them, says I.

I remember really liking the Marquess of whatever-he's-called in that early section of the book (Lily being kindly patronised by all the well-meaning rich relatives and friends) when he's joking about his boots and having no feet. Fittingly, he is the hero in and therefore completes this really quite long book cycle in Simply Perfect.

I do love your reviews.Joanna Chambershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11008683032460114886noreply@blogger.com
