Thank God I'm not reading their stupid books."

Later, I did read their stupid books, which turned out to range from excellent to pretty decent, but I still prefer Simply Love to all of them. I agree with most of the flaws that you pointed out, but I loved the protagonists and their chemistry enough to render them irrelevant. (For me, that is; this is not a "UR RONG" comment.)

I even liked the Wales-is-awesome-let's-bone-on-its-scenic-landscape scenes, although it helped that I hadn't been overexposed to similar scenes in a dozen other Balogh novels. By the time I read More than a Mistress, I was rolling my eyes hard enough to give myself a headache.
Maddie Grovehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12693042098959910876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7348815.post-81201328075649752852013-05-04T01:54:56.395-06:002013-05-04T01:54:56.395-06:00Great review..! Great review though you seemed to be much more tolerant of the book then I was. For some reason I can't quite put my finger on Mary Balogh and I don't get on. Too earnest? I don't know but I know I'm in a minority. Rudejasperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08262824398753157757noreply@blogger.com
