FINALLY - after MANY rejections, my poor battered tale "Parasite: A Love Story" has been accepted by fait accomplit magazine (the Comparative Literature magazine for the University of Alberta). There's no money, but it's a publication credit, I'm invited to the release party, and there will be readings and conversations with other writers, so THAT'S bound to be awesome.
Plus, I get a copy! Hurray!
Congratulations on the publication!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you could give me some advice. I'm looking for some magazines to publish some of my short stories in. (I know of Cicada, which is how I first found you.)
Do you have any recommendations or ways I can find short-story magazines?
I hate to ask you to take time out of your busy schedule, but I'd appreciate any help I can get.
Thank you.

No problem!
ReplyDeleteI found out about Cicada through an excellent reference guide called "The 2005 Novel and Short Story Writer's Market." That series is incredibly useful - they display lists of publishers, literary magazines, whether they pay, whether they accept newcomers, and links to their websites and submission guidelines.
More than likely your public library has a copy of it.
As for Fait Accomplit, I found out about it because they posted flyers around the University.
Awesome! Thank you so much, I'll look into that book. :D
ReplyDeleteIf anyone's interested, there is a Facebook group for Fait Accomplit. And you deserved to be published in it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulation for you achievement. I am glad for you. Hopefully, This publication brings lot of success in your life and make your future bright and successful :-)
